An all-volunteer team on the eastern Lake District fells, 24/7, 365 days a year.
Donate nowOur mission
Every year around 90 calls reach us — walkers caught out by the weather, injured climbers, lost children as the light fades. We cover the eastern Lake District fells in every season, and we average just 27 minutes from the phone ringing to a team being on the hill.
We are 42 volunteers who do this in our own time, for no pay. We receive no statutory funding. Every rope, stretcher, radio and training day is paid for by people who believe nobody should be left out on the mountain alone.
Advice for the hills, a look behind the callouts, and how to join us.
From stretchers to satellite phones to vacuum mattresses — the specialist equipment our team carries and why we need donations to maintain it.

We can only respond because people back us. Here is how you can.
Your gift buys the kit and training that gets casualties off the hill safely.
Fit, committed and local? We train ordinary people to do extraordinary things.
Carry the right kit, check the forecast and tell someone your route before you set out.
No statutory funding means every pound comes from people like you. Help keep all 42 of us ready to answer the next call, day or night.
